    Dear Engineers,

I need some details about to  how to calculate the pump power from the general mechanical details.

Get the power consumption in KW which shld be on the pump required, the current can be calculated from there.

The pump will be required to pump Qn cubic metres of water per second to a head of H metres at n efficiency. Work out the pump power from these parameters considering that water density is unity. Is this information usefull? Check the units on both sides of the equation.

If you know BHP of the pump add approximate 10% to arrive at Electrical KW of the motor.

    Ahamed,

To complete the equation for pump power calculation: the pump power (kW)  will be equal to flow rate in cubic metres per second x density of fluid in kg/cubic meter x acceleration due to gravitational force, 9.81 m/second squared, x head in metres. The shaft power (kW) will then be this pump power/pump efficiency.
