2010/11/23 at 6:30 am #10275adminKeymasterI am trying to locate some books / notes or training materials that pertain to the following subjects that someone might have come across or know of:Electrical design engineering regarding the design of: low and medium voltage switchgears, busbar systems, power distribution, sub-station design/installation, transformers, cabling, motor control centres (MCC), electrical distribution systems for the power industry, grid connectors, line protectors, fault isolation systems, local distribution systems, design of low and medium voltage power distribution including load flow, short circuit and grounding studies, transformer sizing, cable sizing and pulling calculations and fuse co-ordination studies, switchgear sizing, grounding, lighting, cable trays and conduit layout. Also: design work for underground and overhead electrical distribution networks, street lighting, and traffic signal activities.Principles and practices of electrical engineering as applied to the design and construction of an electrical power distribution system.Design of new pole lines, design of new subdivision shallow service utilities, design of underground systems – both new construction and rehabilitation projects.Distribution engineering including distribution standards, design, construction, equipment and maintenance pratices. Methods and materials used in construction of an electrical distribution system.Asset management in the areas of transmission and distribution.Sometimes the university bookstores have good books related to the above mentioned subjects. I'd appreciate it If anyone knows of or finds any such books or materials, could they please post with the name and ISBN for them? Thanks, Jennifer2010/11/23 at 9:11 am #11634Alen MatanovicParticipant
Dear Jennifer,
here's a very usefull web site that can provide You various e-books..
You can simply start searching for “Electrical power systems” or lest say “Electric Power Transformer Engineering ” or even “Control of Induction Motors”……. Anything You may want to know…….
I supose there are also other similiar sites, but this has really large data base, many up-to-date books (from various areas) and provides You with a ISBN number, link to buy on Amazon (or etc. sites),, but You can also search for “mirror links” so You can download for free :) ..
(P.S. if some book You found have no mirror links, You may want to search for another with same title,, because people do “reposting” for those books)
Anyways, the site is : [Link removed by moderator team] so feel free to share Your opinion about how usefull You find it ;) ..
Cheers,, Alen..

2010/11/23 at 6:36 pm #11636adminKeymasterHi,
Thanks for your reply. Did you mean that you can download “mirror links” from ebookee.net, or do a search from somewhere else like google? I'm not entirely sure what 'mirror links' are. Am I correct to understand that they are just other places where the same file has been downloaded? In this case, the whole books? I appreciate your time.

Please try searching for some e-book of interest on ebookee.net and when You click on it look for the “download links” ……. here's the example of direct links for some book I randomly selected: [Link removed by moderator team] trust me, it's simple ;)..

2010/11/24 at 12:04 am #11641adminKeymasterHi,
Thanks again. No, I haven't heard of those sites before today. I tried some of them without success. I was looking for a book entitled 'Transmission and Distribution Electrical Engineering' by Colin Bayliss (3rd edition). The first link you gave me, well, when I went to it, but had a little bit of trouble because after I translated the site to english, not all of it translated. I did try some of the downloads for the book, but they wouldn't work for me. I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas or other sources?
In any case, I appreciate your time and help.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
