ParticipantHello Guys,
Mi name is Richard, panelbuilder in Spain, Im really happy to find this place to put questions and receive help from others.
Have a customer that need by requirement a collection of Variable speed drivers / starters for some industrial complex (it is a good opportunity business), but they request metal enclosures due to the size of material they need.
The situation is that they want to put it in a aggresive enviromment (coast), I do not recommend this but they insist,
Do anyone of you see risk that should affect the material inside cabinets or any recommendation of brand that ensure IP55?
Thanks in advance

KeymasterHi, In situations like this, I would always use a Stainless steel cabinet with Rittal type SK Stainless steel Rain hoods over SK fan / filter units. You will need to work out the airflow for the enclosure based on the heat rejection value from the Variable speed drive you are using.
The rain hoods slide up to gain access to the filter unit for maintenance, this should also stop any salt water spray from entering the enclosure.

Dave
