    Dear Friends,

    Could you please help me with something?

    I am trying to increase my supply voltage. Optimally I should use a step up transformer.

    I was wondering if its possible to do the below:Transformer sort of short circuited

    I will be connecting this to a very small load (.1A). I have a small free 12-0-12 transformer with me, hence this idea.

    Is this possible, or is it really idiotic? :-)………..

    Thank You for reading this.

    Dear ;

    Yes, you can do it, and after this connection the transformer will be ” Auto-transformer “, but you should be careful of the current flowing in coils.

    By the way, you know that an Auto-transformer has only one coil, to which we supply the input voltage, and from which we obtain the necessary voltage to supply the load.

    Dear Spir,

    Thank you so much for replying to my question.

    It becomes an Auto-transformer! Yes…………

    Thank you Sir, again. :-)…………………………………
