We are a US engineering firm and providing design services in the Gulf countries.  We are well accustomed to NEC rules, but British Standards and local codes.
We are trying to determine the code or general practice requirements for equipment and circuits to install RCBO breakers.
We find discussion of ELCB breakers – and think the same circuit elements would require RCBO for residual current detection.
Does BS7671 specifically call out what equipment/circuits require residual current?
We are designing commercial facilities using MEM panelboards MEMSHIELD 2 MCB Distribution Boards..

we suggest that you read IET who publish BS7671:
IET publishes Wiring Matters Magazine which contains many articles such as RCDs.
There are two such articles which can be accessed via the following link:

sorry, i do not understand the question : what do you mean by “damping” ? and where this wire is located inside the HV/MV substation ? is you expect an answer be much more specific !

    sir,
i disigned a circuit for street lights with RTC & RMS voltage regulation in output & it is 100% solid state. i used back to back SCR in power stage & it gives wonderfull results & there is no flicker is observed in MH, hpsv ,florocent,MV& incandicent .only draw back is hormonics it is observed in one premier test house in south asia (CPRI) they give report. it says max 60% current hormonics in single phase & 260% in three phase. can you suggest a circuit it is helpfull.
    thank you

    Hi,

I would like to get guidance on how to improve power factor correction in a system that generates alot of harmonics. Currently, i am running a High Frequency solid state induction welder (11kv,300kw/350KHZ)Tube mill from South Korea and whenever the machine is loaded, power factor deteroriates from approximately 0.98 to 0.70 inductive, for which we are penalized by the State electricity Power supply company.
The machine main power line is connected in parallel with an automatic power factor correction bank (415V, 50Hz,405Kvar) capacity.

I am looking for PE in NY to ask for the reference to transfer my PE license from CA to NY by reciprocity. I carry PE registration in CA for more then 10 years and was affiliated with many projects as engineer in records (CA license # E-16656). References are available from my former co workers. Unfortunately I don’t have acquaintances with PE license in NY where I have recently moved. Accordingly to NY PE Board one reference should be from licensed engineer in State of NY. Please e-mail to primordialllc@gmail.com and I will provide with details on that.
    Regards
    Alex
