Dear Members,
As a electrical student i understood the current definition. But if i want to convey to a others i dont know hoe to explain. Can someone explaint the definition in simple format.
Regards,
Boopathi

2011/01/28 at 2:26 am #11765adminKeymasterCurrent is a measure of the rate of flow of electrons. 1 Ampere is equal to 1 coulomb per second. One coulomb is equal to 6.241 x 1018
electrons.
2011/01/28 at 9:53 am #11773adminKeymasterIt is a flow of charges
2011/01/29 at 12:24 pm #11786adminKeymastercurrent is the flow of electrons .each electron should posses its own charge.
2011/01/29 at 6:33 pm #11787shivamshivaParticipantCurrent is nothing but it is flow of electrons. If 6.24 x 1018 electrons flows a reference point in 1 second then it is said that 1 ampere current was flown.
2011/02/03 at 2:41 am #11796alimParticipantThis not a criticism of posts 3,4,5,&6., but what would someone understand from what is stated , even though what is stated is true. I think if the OP says how he explained it , we can build on it. I think what you UNDERSTAND is what is important.
2011/02/08 at 11:21 am #11811adminKeymastercurrent is a motion or vibration or flow of charge in a perticuler direction.
2011/02/08 at 12:14 pm #11812kannadhasanParticipantcurrend is a rate of fiow of electrons. 1 columb is eqal to 6.241*10^18(1 ampere is equal to one columb.
2011/02/16 at 11:32 am #11825adminKeymastercurrent is flow of charge……..the no.of columbs passed a point in one second………is called current
i.e., I=c/s…..current uints are columbs/second (or) amperes…..
for detailed information go through this video……it will be clear those who got dout

Hello,
Please upload the file… Here you gave the path to the file in your system…
Thank You!
2011/02/17 at 3:01 pm #11829TRIPURARIParticipantThe flow of free electron is called current.in otherword the rate of flow of electron i.e,charge flowing per second I=Q/t,
2011/02/18 at 7:41 am #11831RashidParticipantSimply,
Every metal(or even non metals) consist of electron which moves in random direction.if all the electrons flow in the same directon (due to applicaton of some external force) current is said to be flowing.
Hope, it is crystal clear to u.
2011/02/20 at 6:27 am #11836adithyaParticipanthaiiiii friend, in my opinion current is defined as “the amount of charge flowing through the conductor. the charge may be electron charge or proton charge. we cant say that only electrons will flow the charge. as we dont know that proton also flow charge. Hence the current is defined as the flow of charge in a conductor.ok”
2011/02/20 at 7:22 pm #11838adminKeymasterYou can’t beat the Electricity / Water analogy for explaining how electricity works! Just try typing it into google.
