It’s Good to have in mind practical aspects: case of a low voltage  switchboard To achieve the effective installation of the , the surge arrester’s connections to the grid should be as short as possible. Any cable crossed by a impulse current has a significant voltage to be added to the Device (SPD) residual voltage.

New design software for electrical installation

I have found a new on Internet: Simaris Design Basic. It is a software for calculation: short-circuit calculations, cables sizing and protection devices choice and settings. This is a new version. I knew the old version of this software – 1.5, which is not available any more.

I find the existing software for the calculation of difficult and long to use. Sometimes, I need to make a simple calculation or verification and I do not need to create a complete network to do it
