OfflineDear All,
I work in a Cement industry where we have 220kw ac squirrel cage induction motor.when it on load it takes 400-500Amps.But,it runs 3-4hours idle(running on no load) per day.it leads to high elecrticity consumption.
1. Is there any possiblity of reducing the Idle running hours and to reduce the power consumtion?besides shutting it off?
2.are they any devices to reduce the power consumpton due to idle running?
Please kndly let me know if you have any ideas?
thank you

For devices that reduce consumption during idle running, look up the following:

Essentially, the Nola controllers reduce the voltage (thus reducing the current and increasing the power-factor) to under-loaded motors, reducing the magnetic and copper losses.
OfflineWith proper energy management and control we can easily reduce power consumption and diesel consumption. Here is one link for better suggestions: http://www.egenergy.com/
Energy Surveillance System (ESS) will monitor alarms send by Energy Management System (EMS) and inform the operator about Energy Leakages. Read more at Energy Surveillance System, ESS
