Is it possible to produce enough energy or current with batteries in order to power an electric cooler

I do some kayaking and camping and was looking for a portable, electric cooler that I could carry with me on these trips. The coolers I have found online that run off battery power are all overpriced. However, the ones that plug in are much less. So, I want to know if there is a way to power some kind of converter using only batteries. If this is possible, are they sold or could they be made? Thanks for all who respond.
