Have any of you ever heard of a software called Volts? It's made by a company called Dolphin. They're located out in California. It's very handy. It actuallly sizes the electrical system taking every adjustment factor into account. It also creates a one-line diagram.

PowerCad-5 electrical design software ticks all the boxes plus includes, Schneider, Terasaki, NHP, GE switchgear

PowerCad-5 is good but does not include the latest range of Schneider equipment so we often have to use Ecodial when using the NSX style breakers

Could you tell us how Trace Elec compares to the other software presented ?

does anyone here have any experience with EasyPower from ESA??

it's really good and simple/friendly user programe, but it's more orientated to voltages over 1kV,, e.g. transimission and distribution..

also, there's free demo version, fully working, but saving and printing/exporting options are unavailable..

sorry for my bad english,, i'm no native speaker..

    cheers,, alen ;)..

    Hello Alen,

the software you mentioned is for High Voltages, as you said.

Are you also involved in Low Voltage, and if yes what software do you use today ?

    Hello,

A couple of precision about Caneco BT:

    – LV genset source supply is possible at any place in the network.

    – Caneco BT is calculating in normal and stand-by installation configuration.

    – Also Caneco BT multi-manufacturer database integrates technical settings. This allows Caneco BT to make an automatic selection of most adapt cables and protective devices between 10 manufacturer catalogs.

    – Caneco BT also makes Import/Export from/to Excel.

I keep at your disposal for any further information.

    Hello,

I used Caneco in a previous job, and I was not aware it was possible to place LV Genset anywhere in teh network

==> is it a new functionality?

==> if not, do you have a demo available somewhere which shows this functionality?

    Hello Laurent,

LV Genset source supply can be placed anywhere in the network since Caneco BT 4.4 version (2002).
Since Caneco BT 5.1.6 (2006), this genset can supply several boards in various point of the network.

In order to select connexion point for a board, just use Supplies / Standby connection menu as shown in this screen-shot:
