It is a fact, in the electrical construction sector, a company has no choice but to develop skills to protect its own markets and to avoid falling into a dangerous competitive situation. Meeting with Michel Kajdan, Development Director at Peintamelec (France). (more…)

Warmth, cold, humidity: the proper atmosphere inside the enclosures
October 14th, 2011 | 4 Comments | Posted in Panel BuildingTags: electrical switchboard, enclosure air conditioner, enclosure cooling, heat dissipation
Most of the electrical panels and switchboards don’t need any thermal management for their internal atmosphere. The variation range of their internal temperature remains acceptable through the seasons and stays within the limitations imposed by the incorporated devices. However, some electrical switchboards should deal with extremely cold temperatures (technical rooms in the mountain) or with very warm or humid atmospheres (installations in Africa, in the Far East,…). Without going that far, some electrical switchboards contain a high density of power electronics devices. These electronic devices are more and more compact and generate a high level of heat dissipation. It is particularly true as examples for transformers, and for variable speed drives too. This situation is also frequent in little or big computing rooms. So, what are the solutions for electrical switchboards? (more…)

Lightning striking the Eiffel Tower (1902)
I would like to share a problem I face when I have to install a surge protection device type 1 in high power electrical switchboard.
The situation is very “unconfortable” for me as a quality provider, because if a short-circuit of high value happens, though luckily probability is low, it would mean very serious safety risks …

Answer to a question asked by Joy in another post, which I copied here :
“Does the new standard , require the panel builder to supply only ,the same branded circuit breakers ,which were used on the type tested assembly in their client panels ?
Is so , doesn’t it limit the available options for the panel builder as he will be restricted with only one brand of circuit breakers for all his future projects?” (more…)
Training courses for panel builders: what, where?

Do you know a lot of existing trainings dedicated to panel builders?
Heard about a “panel builder university” somewhere worldwide?
I don’t !!
Read below the point of view and experience of Denis LAUDREN, who has been involved in panel building for many years, and who develops and animates today some training courses dedicated to panel builders.
