Hi Dan, the title of this blog is referring to panel builder web sites, I believe this to be in context of Panel Builders own web sites, I have a different proposal, on our site we have started to bring together all information that could be of use to 'Panel Builders' - ie. links to manufacturers CAD files, product directory, catalogues, news items and a Panel builder ezine/magazine. In fact we are finishing off the compilation of a list of training providers in this specific area.

We believe we are in a position to create a micro site just on Panel Building. My question is what is the type of information/content that an International audience would like to have on such a site.

As stated in the above text we have some information on;

CAD files
Catalogues
List of British Standards
News
Product training by manufacturer
Magazine/ezine
Product database (still being added to monthly)

Please let us know what other information a Panel Builder Portal/web site should contain and we will gather such information and create this new site.

In the UK we are attempting to bring all the information required by all industry sectors together under "one roof" and e-lec.org is the electrical industry portal, we have links to manufacturers CAD files, catalogues, price lists, software, British Standards etc. We have also created a magazine aimed at the Panel Builder. It is still very difficult for us to get Panel Builders to provide us with case studies etc. We are not a forum but provide links to forums for the benefit of our visitors. There is no cost at all involved in getting this information in front of the customer, so please provide us with the information and we will publish it.

I have vast experience of dealing with LV panels in India and also for Marine..

In case you have not dealt with Marine market earlier let me inform you that among other technical things you also need to have approval from agencies like IRS , LRS etc. You must also decide in which arena you want to enter ... Defence ships , commercial ships , freighters , yatchts etc..as this will decide the technical competancies...
